Pastor Weekly - 10/7/26

Hello ICC Family!

It was great to have such a packed sanctuary for our Sunday anniversary celebration. There were many old friends and several new ones, and as always, a lot of great food!  Pastor Joseph encouraged all of us to remember - based on his text from Hebrews 10:32. Remember the early days when we first came to know Jesus, so that we can endure the difficult days to come. For our mid-week reminder, I want to share another verse that should fill you with encouragement and hope…

The word of the LORD came to me, saying,
“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you,
before you were born I set you apart…”

Jeremiah 1:4-5 (NIV)

There are married couples that have been together for so long that they know almost everything they could possibly know about their spouse. They know each other’s likes and dislikes. They seem to be able to communicate with just a glance and finish one another’s sentences. They often know what their spouse is thinking without communicating at all. But even though this is the case, and even though they have been together for decades, every now and then there are details and thoughts that have been hidden and undisclosed that slip out and they surprise each other.

But here’s the thing… No matter how well your spouse, or your parent, or your child knows you, God knows you much more deeply and completely! And He knew everything about you before you were even born! He created you and He knew you! That should encourage you! And I hope that just like Hebrews 10:32… it gives you confidence and hope to be strong and courageous and not be afraid. God is with you, and He knows you, and He always has. There has never been a moment that He was absent or unaware of everything about your life. He loves you so much and you are so important to him that He has also set you apart to fulfill a role in his kingdom. You have a part to play in his body. You have been blessed with spiritual gifts. Gifts that were given personally to you because He knows you. Take heart this week and be brave and use them! Before you were born, God set you apart!

Blessings to you all!
And know that I am praying for you!
