Our History
International Christian Church held its first service on September 21, 2007 in the garage of David and Helen Devera in Goose Creek, SC. The Deveras were citizens of the Philippines who came to the United States after Pastor Devera joined the US Navy. Pastor Devera felt a calling to lead a church that was open to people of all nations, regardless of the barriers that many times divide people, such as where they were born, their native language or the color of their skin.
In 2016, Pastor Jimmy Reeves agreed to take over for Pastor Devera, who returned to the Philippines to lead several ministries. Pastor Jimmy served faithfully and selflessly as a volunteer pastor, along with his wife, Jan, even as he maintained his full-time law practice in Summerville. In November 2022, the church voted to call their first full-time paid pastor when they hired Pastor Aaron Bohrer, who had previously pastored an international church in Thailand.
For over 28 years, ICC has strived toward fulfilling the command found in Matthew 28:19-20 of reaching people of all nations. Whether you were born in the United States or on the other side of the world, whether your native language is English, Tagalog, or one of the other 6500 languages spoken throughout the world, and regardless of the color of your skin or ethnic makeup, you are welcome at ICC. Please join us as we experience the love of God and work toward sharing His love with all nations!
